About This Project
Orca / Design Concept
Sometimes, design isn’t about inventing a new form, but about capturing one that already exists in nature. The Orca chair was born from a single line — the powerful yet graceful curve of a killer whale’s fin.
The defining character of the piece lies in its rear legs. Their distinct silhouette gives the object a sense of hidden momentum, as if the chair is caught in a moment of motion. This «zoomorphic» approach transforms a static piece of furniture into a living, breathing shape.
The fluid transition between the textured seat and the smooth, sculpted legs creates a visual narrative of diving and surfacing. It is an experiment in bio-minimalism, where functionality is wrapped in an iconic natural silhouette.
