Sound-insulated inline mixed-flow fan

The Challenge:

Traditional designs for this type of equipment are typically confined to standard industrial geometries — simple cylinders or basic bodies of revolution. However, there is no technical reason for industrial products to remain visually indifferent. I aimed to prove that functionality can be visually expressive.

The Concept:

The core inspiration for this design was the supersonic shockwave — the physical phenomenon of «breaking the sound barrier.» I wanted to capture that precise moment of aerodynamic tension and translate it into a tangible form.

The Result:
The faceted, dynamic shape of the casing is a visual manifestation of the air power contained within. By moving away from circular symmetry, the design not only stands out in a crowded market but also emphasizes the product’s primary feature: the mastery of airflow and silence.
